What Happens After a Camera Inspection?

What Happens After a Camera Inspection? — Expert answers from Sunburst Environmental, Metro Atlanta’s drain jetting specialists.

After the camera inspection, one of three things happens — and you decide what comes next.

Scenario 1: The line is clear or has minor buildup

The camera shows a pipe in good condition with no significant blockage or buildup. We walk you through the footage, confirm the line is functional, and let you know what we observed — including anything worth monitoring over time. You receive the footage. No jetting is needed.

Scenario 2: The line has a blockage or buildup we can clear

The camera identifies grease buildup, root intrusion, debris accumulation, or a blockage the jetter can clear. We explain what we found, quote the jetting service, and with your approval, we run the jetter. After jetting, we run the camera again to confirm the result. You receive footage from both passes — before and after.

Scenario 3: The line has a structural problem we cannot fix

The camera shows a collapsed section, significant pipe wall cracking, a severe offset that is blocking flow, or deterioration that makes jetting inappropriate. We stop, show you exactly what the camera found, hand you the footage, and refer you to a plumber for repair assessment. We do not charge you for a jetting job we did not do. You walk away with documentation of exactly what is in your pipes.

What the footage includes

The camera inspection video shows: the interior of the pipe from the access point to as far as the camera reached, real-time video of any buildup, blockages, root intrusion, or structural issues found, and the general condition of the pipe along its length. For jobs that involve jetting, the post-jetting camera pass is included so you have a before and after comparison.

How to use the footage

Share it with a plumber if structural repair is needed — they will want to know exactly what was found and where. Use it in a real estate negotiation if the inspection was for a home purchase. Keep it on file for future reference, particularly if you want to track the rate of buildup or root regrowth over time.
