Pipe failure during jetting is rare — and it is exactly what the camera inspection is designed to prevent.
The camera inspection before jetting is specifically intended to identify pipes that are too compromised to jet safely. If the camera shows a pipe with a visible crack, significant corrosion, a section near collapse, or other structural issues, we do not jet it. We tell you what we found and refer you for repair.
That said, pipes can have failure points that are not visible from inside — external corrosion, soil voids, or damage below the visible surface. This is rare, but it happens. In those cases, we stop immediately, assess the situation, and advise on next steps.
The liability question: if a pipe fails during jetting that the camera showed to be in adequate condition, the failure was pre-existing. If we jetted a pipe that clearly showed problems on camera and it failed, that is on us. The camera inspection is not just good practice — it protects everyone.
