Is Hydro Jetting Loud?

Is Hydro Jetting Loud? — Answered by Sunburst Environmental, Metro Atlanta’s drain jetting specialists.

Hydro jetting equipment is louder than most home appliances but not extreme — similar to a pressure washer.

The pump unit (which pressurizes the water) makes the most noise — a diesel or gas engine running at working speed. It’s typically mounted on a truck or trailer outside your property. Inside the house, you hear primarily the water sound from the jetting hose in the pipe.

Standard ear protection is used by technicians. You do not need to leave the house, but staying away from the work area is typical. The jetting operation itself — the time the nozzle is actually running in the pipe — is usually 20–60 minutes for a residential job.
