The drain lines that carry waste from your fixtures to the septic tank — and the lines within the septic distribution system — can be jetted if they are clogged. The septic tank itself is cleaned by pumping (removing accumulated solids and scum), not jetting.
For properties on septic systems, it is important to know which part of the system you are dealing with. A clog between the house and the tank is a drain line problem that jetting can address. A clog in the distribution lines after the tank, or a failed leach field, is a septic system problem that requires a septic specialist.
