Here is what to have ready before a drain jetting appointment.
Know where your cleanout is
The cleanout is a capped pipe fitting — typically 3″ or 4″ diameter, often white or black PVC or cast iron — that gives direct access to the sewer line without going through a fixture. Common locations: near the foundation on the exterior of the house, in the yard along the path from house to street, in a basement or utility room. If you cannot find it, we can help locate it, but knowing in advance saves time.
Have the access point clear
If the cleanout is in a utility room, move anything stored in front of it. If it is in the yard, clear any lawn furniture, storage, or debris over the area. We need working room around the cleanout to set up the camera and jetter safely.
Know what drains are affected
Before we arrive, make a mental note of which drains are slow or blocked, when the problem started, and whether you have had it snaked before (and how recently). This information helps us quickly understand the scope of the issue and choose the right starting point for the camera inspection.
Stop using water before the appointment if the line is blocked
If you are calling because of an active blockage — multiple slow drains or a backup — minimize water use before we arrive. Every flush and drain cycle adds more water to a system that cannot pass it forward, which can make backups worse.
Be present for the inspection
You watch the camera monitor with us. The inspection is something we do together — you see exactly what we see, in real time, and can ask questions as we go. You do not need any technical knowledge. We explain what the camera is showing as we go.
What you will receive at the end
The camera inspection footage — yours to keep. A verbal walkthrough of what we found and what it means. If jetting was done, a post-jetting camera pass showing the result. An honest answer about next steps, whether that is nothing (line is clean), scheduling preventive maintenance, or calling a plumber for structural repair.
