Licensing requirements for drain jetting vary by state and municipality. In Georgia, some drain cleaning work requires a plumbing license; other work (including hydro jetting as a standalone service) may not. Ask any company you are considering whether they are properly licensed for the work they are doing in your municipality.
Insurance is non-negotiable. Anyone working on your property should carry both general liability and workers’ compensation. Ask for a certificate of insurance before the work starts. If something goes wrong — a pipe failure, a worker injury — you need to know they are covered.
Beyond licensing and insurance: look for a company that runs a camera inspection before jetting (not optional — required), provides the footage to you, and is transparent about what they found. Credentials matter, but process matters more. A licensed company that jets without looking is still doing it wrong.
