Yes — tree roots grow back after jetting. The question is how fast.
Hydro jetting cuts through root intrusion inside the pipe and flushes the debris out. What it does not do: kill the tree or the root system. The roots that entered through a crack or joint will try to grow back, because the crack or joint is still there and still emitting water vapor that roots follow.
Growth rate varies by tree species. Fast-growing species (willows, poplars, sweetgums common in North Georgia) can show re-intrusion within months. Slower-growing hardwoods might take years. The condition of the pipe matters too — a small entry point that is held stable might not allow rapid re-growth, while an expanding crack becomes a larger opening over time.
After jetting, the camera inspection shows us the entry point and its size. We’ll give you an honest assessment of regrowth risk and whether a follow-up maintenance schedule makes sense.
The long-term solution for persistent root intrusion is pipe repair or replacement — closing the entry point. Jetting manages the problem; it does not eliminate the source.
