Can Hydro Jetting Fix a Collapsed Pipe?

Can Hydro Jetting Fix a Collapsed Pipe? — Answered by Sunburst Environmental, Metro Atlanta’s drain jetting specialists.

No — a collapsed pipe cannot be fixed with hydro jetting.

This is one of the most important things to understand before calling any drain service. Hydro jetting clears what is inside a pipe — blockages, buildup, roots. It cannot repair the pipe itself. A collapsed section has physically failed: the pipe wall has caved in, the pipe has buckled, or a section has broken apart. Water pressure will not fix that.

In fact, jetting a severely compromised pipe can make things worse by dislodging material that was holding a partial collapse together, or by pushing high pressure into a section that cannot handle it.

This is precisely why we run a camera inspection before every jet — to confirm what we are dealing with. If the camera shows a collapse, we tell you straight, hand you the footage, and refer you to a plumber who can do the repair. We do not jet pipes we know we’ll damage, and we do not take your money for a job that will not solve your problem.
