Here’s exactly what happens during a hydro jetting service.
We start with the camera inspection. Before any jetting equipment comes out, we run the camera through your line and show you what is there. This is not optional — it confirms what we are clearing, confirms the pipe is in good enough condition to jet, and establishes a baseline to compare after we are done.
After the inspection, we set up the jetter. We access the line through a cleanout — a capped pipe fitting that gives direct access to the sewer line — or through a drain opening if a cleanout is not accessible. We thread the jetting hose (a high-pressure water line with a specialized nozzle) into the line and run pressurized water through it.
The jetting nozzle sprays backward as well as forward. As we push the hose down the line, it cleans the full circumference of the pipe wall — not just a path through the center. We work from the far end of the problem back toward the cleanout, so debris is pushed downstream rather than further into the line.
After jetting, we run the camera again to confirm the line is clear and show you the result. Then we hand you the footage from both passes. The whole process typically takes 1–2 hours for a residential job.
