A camera inspection can find virtually any problem inside a drain or sewer line.
Common findings include: grease and fat buildup, root intrusion (from fine hair-like tendrils to dense root masses), pipe scale and mineral deposits, sand and sediment accumulation, physical blockages (wipes, debris, foreign objects), and soap scum buildup.
Structural problems we find: hairline cracks, pipe corrosion, collapsed sections, bellied pipe (a low spot where waste pools), pipe offset at joints, deteriorated clay tile or cast iron, and intrusion from surrounding soil.
What the camera cannot always confirm: the exact depth of the pipe at any point, issues outside the pipe wall (like soil conditions), or problems in lines we cannot access. For a full sewer lateral inspection, we need to be able to get the camera to a cleanout or an accessible drain opening.
The footage also shows you the general condition of the pipe beyond just the immediate problem — whether it looks like a line that is going to need attention again soon, or one that is in good shape for its age.
